We went today for Kaitlyn's 5 year check up at the doctor's office. She is officially a smidge above average on her weight and height-53rd percentile for her weight and 56th percentile for her height. She has been staying right around the 50th percentile for weight and height since she was two. She was greatly relieved to not have to get any vaccinations, and she and Andrew were delighted to get their suckers as usual as we exited the building.
We started back to school at home though her preschool won't start until after Labor Day. We got all of our school materials together that we used last year and went through to see what we should review and keep and what we should get new.
There are still a lot of science experiments we didn't do last year that I think she is ready for this year, so that should be fun...don't know how to incorporate Andrew just yet, but that will just be trial and error!
We are going to stick with The Code series for her writing and phonics as I think it's great and she is used to the layout of the activities. We also are incorporating some of the Kumon work for some supplimental math activities. Still using Scribble Art for most of our creative outlets as well....there are SO many great ideas in that book! We also have all of the fabulous books Aunt Cynthia passed down and the computer software from Aunt Lise that we'll get to use again this year.
Lastly, we cleaned out Kaitlyn's closet today...much needed!
That's all the news for the day! Thanks for checking out Watt's Going On!
