First Day of School

Kaitlyn's First Day of School
Today was the first day of school, and everyone was so excited to get to go to school...until we actually got to school.  Kaitlyn was super excited, and went right into her classroom and started doing her thing.  Andrew on the other hand was, well, he was underwhelmed by the experience.  The screams of "Mommy come back.  Mommy don't leave!" could be heard as I was exiting the building, and Mommy had a little nervous breakdown in the car.  It is so hard to leave your child when they are crying for you...my poor little man.
Needless to say he survived the day, and he was standing by the door waiting to be picked up.  The teachers said they ended up giving him his pacifier to calm him down (which they said they couldn't do...They hadn't met Andrew when this rule was written-lol!), and that seemed to help.
Hopefully the days will get easier as he gets used to his new routine and his teachers.
We went to get icecream after school, and Kaitlyn told me all about her fabulous day.  Coloring, arts & crafts, and even popsicles because it was someone's birthday today!  Wow.  Please note she didn't tell me about the popsicles until we already had our icecream...smart little girl!
Kaitlyn didn't have homework today, but the teachers said to expect it.  We did get a "no nuts" policy (The kind you eat, so all you other nuts are welcome. Ha! Ha!) from her teachers today.  Evidently there are many students in her class with nut allergies...and not just peanuts mind you, all kinds.  We received a list of appropriate snacks and food we could pack in their lunches.  Goodness gracious who knew that nuts were slipped into all kinds of foods.
Well, it's been raining and pouring today, but the rain is needed, so I guess we will take it.
Thanks for checking out Watt's Going On in our lives today!
